Powerful and results-driven leader, a Lion focuses on the destination, not the journey, and has no problem envisioning where he or she is headed. Lions focus on their tasks and stay the course until they reach their goal. They are not afraid to take risks, because the end result is squarely in their sights.

They are responsible for protecting their pride, hunting for food, and ensuring that everyone is taken care of. Lions exhibit a level of confidence and assertiveness that is necessary for effective leadership.

Lions are excellent communicators. Lions use a variety of vocalizations, such as roaring, growling, and purring, to communicate with each other. This is important in the wild, where the ability to communicate effectively can mean the difference between life and death. Similarly, effective communication is key in leadership. A good leader must be able to clearly communicate their vision and goals to their team in order to achieve success.

One of the most obvious characteristics of lions is their physical strength. Lions are one of the largest and strongest predators in the animal kingdom, capable of taking down prey much larger than themselves. This strength is a key attribute of a good leader. A strong leader is someone who is able to withstand the pressures and challenges that come with leading a team or organization. They have the physical and mental fortitude to persevere through difficult times and lead their team to success.

Lions are competitive, dominant, strong, confident, and see the big picture. They are task-driven and extroverted. Lions move fast and furiously and do not like being idle. Lions generally look like leaders because they can see and enjoy the tasks that are required to accomplish the vision set before them. Leading can come very naturally to Lions, because of their strong personalities and capability to make quick decisions.

Courage: Lions are fearless animals that are willing to take risks in order to achieve their goals. This courage is essential for a leader, as they must be willing to make tough decisions and take risks in order to lead their team to success. A leader who lacks courage may struggle to inspire their team to take risks and may be unable to make the tough choices necessary to achieve their goals.

Wise team work: Lions are also known for their wisdom. Lions are intelligent animals that have developed complex social structures and hunting strategies. They are able to communicate effectively with each other and work together to achieve their goals. With their majestic appearance and fierce demeanor, they command respect from all who encounter them.

Out of balance

Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs. Their greatest relational need is to add softness to their natural style to keep from being too hard on people in the process. They need to be intentionally relational, understanding that
it cannot be forced. Meaningful decisions and projects take time—it’s a discipline for a lion to be patient with this process and to take the time to bring others along, rather than making unilateral decisions that others will have to live with.

The shadow of being a problem solver who takes charge is being too busy, impatient, pushy, a “do it now!”. The problem of having a bold, direct communication is passing by insensitive. The conflict of a bold decision maker is not being thoughtful of others’ wishes. A strong-willed, action oriented, persisten person could become stubborn, inflexible, relentless, and unyielding. An independent, self-reliant leader who likes authority could avoid people or seeking help and become too direct or demanding. The other side of competitive and enterprising leadership is acting cold blooded and taking big risks.

By cultivating these qualities, individuals can learn to live with a greater sense of purpose, community, and meaning.
