All Spiritual Schools Believe in the Law of Love

You are a light worker who has come to earth to teach about love.

Love is the primary teaching of any religion. Love is not limited to sentimental words or physical displays of affection that make headlines in the media. Love is the genuine interest in the well-being of others, the affinity among beings, a human virtue of kindness and compassion.

Jesus reminds us in Matthew 7:12, “In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets.” This called Golden Rule is central to Christian teachings.

The Sri Gurū Granth Sahib Ji is the holy book of Sikhism in India. For Sikhs, it is not only a book but a guru, a true teacher that guides us. In this work, it says: I am not a stranger to anyone; and no one is a stranger to me. In fact, I am a friend to all.

Among the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad, the founder of Islam, we can mention: None of you truly believes until you wish for others what you wish for yourself.

In the Udānavarga, a collection of Buddhist texts, it asserts: Do not treat others in ways that you yourself would find hurtful.

Hindus, based on the teachings of the Mahabharata, consider that the sum of duties is summarized in: Do not do to others what would cause you pain if done to you.

“Do not do to others anything you would consider harmful to yourself.” This is a maxim of Zoroastrianism.

In the Jewish tradition, it is considered that what one hates, they should not do to their neighbor.

For Jainism, one should treat all creatures of the world as one would like to be treated.

In Taoism, it is considered that one should contemplate the gain and loss of their neighbor as if it were their own.

When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You know that your name is safe in their mouth.

Love is a universal energy. A contagious force, a gift that exists thanks to the heart that we all are—humanity, nature, and sentient beings. It is the key to being alive. It is the music in the voice of someone you like; it is the smile in flowers when kissed by the rain; it is the grateful look in the hands that give and receive; it is the hope in grandparents, every day; it is the dimple in your cheeks when you look at yourself with pride in the mirror of hours, of years, of memory.

Love is what makes you smile when you’re tired.

Terri, 4 years old.

Love only waits for you to call upon it, to remember it, to cultivate it.
